Here’s what other people are saying about Aquavac Compatible Vacuum Filter Cartridge. (47 reviews) 4.9 out of. Will this fit an Aquavac Multisystem 3000 model. I have been using my old Aqua Vac Multisystem 3000 for dust extraction whilst sanding off several coats of antifouling. It seemed to be distributing the dust rather than collecting it and I changed the filter which improved the situation markedly I thought. However these filters (there is only one) clog easily with this dust and plaster dust. I clean them with a paint brush fairly gently and they seem to loose their effectiveness.
I think it is a paper filter, there is a foam one available but I have never used this, does anyone have any experience. Does anyone else use one of these or vacuum with similar single filters?
Do you experience the same? Can anyone recommend a better quality filter ideally washable? Or, another make of unit which ideally will do dust extraction, workshop vacuum duties and wet vacuuming. I am aware of Fein, Festool and the like but would like to find a more economical solution if possible. I had this issue and discovered a crack around the drum. When the machine was running it would blow fine dust out the crack. The crack was not that evident as it appeared to be in a plastic seam around the drum near where it starts to narrow at the top.
Carpet tape sorted that out. I beat the filter and brush it to remove the dirt, its over 20 years old now bit still works. Triton make an in line filter bucket thing that sits between the tool and the suction device.
It's inexpensive. Looking at the reviews everyone who buys it is experiencing the same problem as you/me.
Perhaps this: I've used these for fairly fine dust, but the secret is to put the device outside with a long hose. Otherwise you are looking for a HEPA device.Anyone got a 30m hose?:-) tis in a barn. I suspect the suck would suck.:-) Actually on a more serious note, can you buy an in line socket that turns the vacuum on when the sander starts? I know you can buy dust extractors with that facility. I did experiment with those adaptor plugs for computers that the energy cos. Were giving away that switched on peripheral equipment after the main PC was switched on but the delay was too long.
